Overview
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering principles and design methodologies, with a focus on creating efficient and effective solutions for our projects. This role requires proficiency in various design software and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life.
Job Responsibilities:
- Thorough review of site surveys and sales proposals to create a detailed scope of work for the PV system design engineers. Project types include battery design, ground mounts, ballast systems, and flat/sloped roof top.
- Complete all necessary rework associated with each completed project requested by the customer or by any associated jurisdiction.
- Responsible to learn and master PV Design related subject matter expertise and industry code standards to avoid unnecessary rework, reduce costs in terms of labor and material for all departments using design deliverables.
- Work closely with PV engineers (draftsman), structural engineers and master electricians for accurate and cost- efficient design decisions.
- Coordinate and problem-solve with internal departments and field operations to resolve ongoing and new issues, prioritize assignments, handle project escalations, and maintain project timeline expectations.
Job Requirements:
- 4+ years of electrical experience in the field including main service panel upgrades, meter upgrades, grounding and bonding.
- Efficient with construction related codes and requirements. (ie. NEC, IRC, IBC, etc.)
- Ability to manage time effectively and make quick accurate decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, engineering, and other operations
- Self-driven to bring top performance to the team.
- Ability to work in a team as well as work independently.
- Detail-oriented individual who can deliver high quality projects end-to-end.
Preferred skills:
- Efficient with Energy Storage System (battery) design,
Ground Mount Design, and / or other custom electrical line diagram design.
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification Preferred.
- Proficiency in drafting related soft

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
